Joy’s acclaimed one-woman show Goin' to Georgia takes the Cunninghams on their last family road trip through the South, crammed in a car with too much fried chicken and not enough AC. The trip begins with Daddy in his boxer shorts firing his shotgun in the air. Along the way, Mama sings camp songs, big brother dissociates, and little sister wonders if her best friend Jimmy will finally have invented that boy machine? This hot bumpy ride ends, hallelujah for all, on the front porch of Mama's childhood home, where in the solace of a soft summer night, the family learns that indeed, you can go home again.
Goin' to Georgia has played to rave reviews in venues across
